At the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the 36th IPL 2025 match between the RR and the LSG ended in a thrilling conclusion, with Lucknow winning by a margin of just two runs. In the closing seconds, Avesh Khan led his side to victory by acting heroically.
After winning the toss, the Lucknow Super Giants chose to bat first and amassed a formidable 180/5 in 20 overs. With a strong 66 off 45 balls, Markram took the lead, although Ayush Badoni (50) and Nicholas Pooran (11) also contributed significantly. Even though they lost wickets frequently, LSG’s middle order made sure they finished strong.
With two wickets, Wanindu Hasaranga was the Rajasthan Royals’ most impressive bowler. Sandeep Sharma and Jofra Archer both made significant contributions, but it was still difficult to match Lucknow’s total.
The Rajasthan Royals came close but lost their 20 overs at 178/5 in reply. The team’s best scorer was Yashasvi Jaiswal (74) with a crucial 34 from 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. With three crucial wickets, including those of Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, and Hetmyer, Avesh Khan’s outstanding bowling performance changed the outcome of the match. Rajasthan’s pursuit was contained because to his outstanding spell in the final overs.
Rajasthan needed nine runs from the final over, but Avesh Khan remained composed, successfully defending the target and giving the Lucknow Super Giants an exciting two-run triumph.
