The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) appear to be prepared for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. One such engagement had the five-time champions and their team participating in a photo shoot as part of their pre-season preparations. Ruturaj Gaikwad, the captain, was unable to take his eyes off his predecessor, MS Dhoni, who was also present at the function.
The 28-year-old opener was spotted photographing the former two-time World Champion when MS Dhoni was occupied with a photo shoot. The photographs he captured of him were breathtaking. Fans have continued to express their affection for the two players who will be the team’s mainstay in the forthcoming event after the video of him capturing breathtaking pictures of his former captain went viral on social media.

Ruturaj Gaikwad aims to lead CSK better.
After leading the team to fifth place and missing out on the playoffs due to a defeat to RCB, Gaikwad had a very poor season the previous year. The Super Kings had seven wins and seven losses in their 14 tournament games, but their failure to qualify for the playoffs following its 2023 victory undoubtedly cast doubt on Gaikwad’s capacity for leadership.
Notwithstanding his impressive batting output, the Maharashtra batsman would want to develop as a leader and uphold the tradition set by Dhoni and his teammate, who gave him the reins to guide the team to an unprecedented sixth championship.
His first test as captain and a batsman will be on Sunday, March 23, when CSK plays the Mumbai Indians at Chennai’s storied MA Chidambaram Stadium. The captain of the Mumbai-based team, Hardik Pandya, will not be available for this match because he was suspended for the first two IPL 2025 games.
