Gujarat Titans (GT) opener Sai Sudharsan celebrated his Indian Test squad call-up by cutting a cake in front of his IPL teammates.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named an 18-member squad for the forthcoming five-match Test series in England.
In the IPL 2025, the southpaw bats brilliantly. His outstanding consistency over the last several years while representing Tamil Nadu in domestic cricket has won him a spot in the Indian Test squad. The Gujarat-based restaurant shared a few photos on social media, showing him smashed with cake.
Shubman Gill, his franchise opening partner, also received good news when he was named India’s Test captain. Three more GT players, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Washington Sundar, were also selected for the 18-member squad.

The match pitted GT against the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. In the first innings, CSK scored 230 for 5 in 20 overs, thanks to outstanding performances by Dewald Brevis (57 off 23) and Devon Conway (52 off 35). Prasidh Krishna took two wickets for GT and bowled cheaply, conceding only 22 runs in four overs.
Regarding the IPL trip, GT now leads the IPL 2025 points table with 18 points. They will look to prevail against the men in yellow to maintain their lead in the points table. CSK, on the other hand, has been eliminated from the tournament and is currently ranked last in the points table. They will try to win the encounter against GT to round off their campaign on a high note.
