In the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25 in Perth, India’s historic victory over Australia was largely attributed to star bowler Jasprit Bumrah. After taking five wickets in the first innings and three more in the second, India triumphed by 295 runs to take a 1-0 series lead. In addition, Rohit Sharma was absent for family reasons, therefore he was the team’s captain.
The team’s next match is the Pink Ball Test against the Australians in Adelaide starting on December 6. There is plenty of time for the players to rest, see the city, and spend time with their loved ones. Cricket presenter and Bumrah’s wife, Sanjana Ganesan, shared a story on Instagram showing her sipping matcha tea with the pacer.
“Matcha and cute boy,” Sanjana wrote on her story on the social media platform.
Here’s Sanjana’s latest Instagram story:

Jasprit Bumrah never talks about himself alone. Cheteshwar Pujara
As the Test captain, Bumrah’s second assignment was the Perth Test. The right-arm bowler had previously captained the team in the 2021 rescheduled Test match against England, which India lost. The idea that Bumrah could be captain was echoed by Cheteshwar Pujara, who referred to him as a “team’s man” after observing how he played as captain against the Australians.
Regarding Bumrah being the greatest, there is no question about it. His ability to perform well under pressure, such as during a challenging home series and during your first Test match in Australia, is impressive. He is capable of leading the team, in my opinion, and he works well with others. Looking at him, you can see that he always discusses the team and the other players in addition to himself. “What guidance would he offer?” Pujara asked.
