India will be preparing for a two-game Test series against South Africa after winning the ODI series and drawing the T20I series. Since the tourists have never won a Test series in South Africa, the first Test, which begins on December 26 at the SuperSport Park in Centurion, might be a historic event for them. With the red-ball series against the Proteas set to begin soon, veteran Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar has taken to social media to share his thoughts on why India has never won a Test series in South Africa. The series has been considered one of the hardest and the last test for the Indian team.
Sanjay Bangar stated that India’s inability to win a Test series in South Africa is not attributable to their cricket prowess. The side has never participated in a whole Test series, he disclosed, and they are never able to become accustomed to the playing circumstances.
“India plays two or three-match test series in South Africa, and they have not won any test series there. “They would perform better if they were able to play a four- or five-match test series,” Sanjay Bangar stated on Star Sports.
After winning the ODIs, India hopes to win the Test series.
Notably, India will play two Test matches against South Africa; the first is set to start on December 26 and the second on January 3. Following their most recent ODI series against the Proteas, the team will be full of confidence.
The fact that a number of veteran players will be competing in the Test series will also give the visitors a significant boost. Veteran batsman Rohit Sharma, along with well-known players like Ravichandran Ashwin, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli, will captain the Test team in contrast to the ODI series.
