Sanjay Manjrekar posted a list of his top hitters from the IPL 2025 thus far on X. According to the well-known analyst, the only batters who mattered were those who scored more than 200 runs and were ranked in decreasing order of strike rate.
Prominent batsmen like Sai Sudharsan and Virat Kohli were left off the list.
He then took the names of the hitters who scored a lot of runs at a high strike rate in the 18th league season, including Jos Buttler, Priyansh Arya, Nicholas Pooran, and Shreyas Iyer.
“The only list that counts when it comes to hitting. On his ‘X’ account, Manjrekar wrote, “So far, big runs with great SR.”
Sanjay Manjrekar noted that youthful batsman Priyansh scored 254 runs at a strike rate of over 202, while Pooran scored 377 runs at an incredible SR of over 205. He chose the names of Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer, who each amassed 263 and 373 runs at strike rates of more than 185 and 167.

Jaiswal, Sudharsan, and Kohli were ignored by Sanjay Manjrekar; why?
Jos Buttler and Mitchell Marsh, two overseas hitters who scored 356 and 344 runs at respective strike rates of 166 and 161, were included in Sanjay’s list. Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen of SRH were also included; they each scored 261 and 288 runs with respective strike rates of 159 and 157.
KL Rahul and Shubman Gill, two Indian batsmen, earned a spot on the list with respective scores of 305 and 323 runs at strike rates of 153 and 154. With nearly 153 strikes, Gill had the lowest strike rate on the list. It was impossible for batters with lower strike rates to be on the list.
Notable batters who were left off the list included Aiden Markram, Sai Sudharsan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Virat Kohli, all of whom were among the top ten run scorers. They couldn’t make the list since their strike rates weren’t as high as others on the list.
