At the Ekana Stadium, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated the Mumbai Indians in an exciting home encounter, extending their lead over the Mumbai-based team. Although the team celebrated, there is still serious concern about captain Rishabh Pant’s form. Sanjiv Goenka, the owner of LSG, also went viral for his response to Pant’s termination.
After a humiliating loss to the Punjab Kings (PBKS), the Lucknow team would be happy that they were able to perform well under duress and win their second home game. But once again, LSG’s most costly player struggled at the batting end, scoring just two runs off of the six balls he faced.
The 2024 T20 World Champion and 2021 Gabba hero was only able to get a leading edge off MI captain Hardik Pandya’s delivery, which was plenty for substitute Corbin Bosch to make a spectacular diving grab. Fans have taken notice of Sanjiv Goenka’s reaction, which was a worried smile that appeared fairly hilarious, in addition to the dismissal. In the days ahead, it might very well become the basis for a lot more memes.

Rishabh Pant don’t live up to the hype
In addition to being the most costly player for LSG, Rishabh Pant also the most expensive player in the IPL overall. KL Rahul, who was released and later acquired by the Capitals, was replaced as the new captain of LSG by the great wicketkeeper, who was purchased for an incredible ₹27 crore at the mega auction.
But Pant hasn’t lived up to the expectations yet. He has only scored 19 runs at an average of 4.75 and a pitiful strike rate of 59.37 in the four games he has played in thus far. The team will be hoping he finds some form as the tournament goes on, even though he has still shown promise as a leader.
