Shaheen Shah Afridi, a pacer for Pakistan, saved Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam from a difficult circumstance during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 press conference. A reporter asked the players a question to which they were unable to respond.
About Pakistan’s batting shortcomings and their inability to reach 200-run totals in T20 cricket, a reporter questioned Babar.
Babar Azam looked at Mohammad Rizwan and asked him to respond, but he had no answer.
When Rizwan remained silent as well, pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi intervened to save the senior pair.
“Undoubtedly, the nation’s morale is currently low, but where are we falling short? We panic and don’t pursue the goal anytime a team scores more than 200. Is it the midset or a lack of intent? “Babar, could you please respond?” the reporter asked.
“It’s Pakistan’s team, it’s our team,” Shahen stated. You’re talking about pursuing 200, you see. In all honesty, bowlers have an obligation to avoid giving up 200 runs as well as batsmen. You can see that the pitches are suitable for batting.
We ought to make every effort to find it, even if we gave up 200 or more. In a similar vein, we must also defend such totals. Our group is a team. We are a family. We have a responsibility to restore Pakistan cricket to its former glory if recent performances have fallen short,” Shaheen continued.
