On the third day of the first Test match against Zimbabwe, Bangladesh came back strongly after leading by 112 runs in the second innings. The act’s credit went to Mominul Haque, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto for their valiant defence against the visitors. The players remained, challenging the Zimbabwe bowlers in a fierce match.
On Day 3 of the match, the host went from 57 for 1 to 194 for 4 by Stumps, demonstrating that they had a successful day despite the weather. They can extend their lead above 200 runs and still have six wickets to spare. Alongside Jaker Ali, who is at 21 runs off 60 balls, captain Shanto will continue to bat at 60 runs off 103 balls. Between them, the batters scored 39 runs off of 92 balls. For the visitors to have a chance to win the opening game, they will need to take wickets.
Blessings to Zimbabwe Muzarabani took three wickets, and Nyauchi took one. Muzarabani brought Zimbabwe back into the game by dismissing the top-performing hitters. After forming a 60-run partnership with Hasan Joy, the hosts’ captain then partnered with Haque for 65 runs.
Given their current form, both batters have an excellent opportunity of setting a high standard for the African country.
Shanto & Co. outscored Zimbabwe a day after they had taken an 82-run lead the day before.
The fact that they were able to establish strong partnerships would make the batters quite delighted with the outcome.
Everything now depends on the middle order and how they move the game along. The game has only just begun, and the last day will reveal the outcome. Seeing how the Zimbabwean bowlers salvage the match on Day 4 will be fascinating.
