On Thursday, March 27, during Sunrisers Hyderabad vs. Lucknow Super Giants, Match 7 of the 2025 Indian Premier League, Shardul Thakur struck twice in a succession to dismiss southpaws Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan.
Abhishek was dismissed after a well-executed short delivery in which he misplayed a draw to Nicholas Pooran at deep square.
Shardul Thakur took his first wicket as Abhishek left for a run-a-ball six after Pooran made no mistakes.
Shardul’s next offering wasn’t the best. But Kishan returned with a golden duck after nicking the errant ball down the leg side to wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant.

Meanwhile, the Pant-led LSG outfit opted to field first on winning the toss. The first two overs were relatively quiet as only 15 runs came off those.
In a truly captivating knock, Kishan, who was purchased by SRH for INR 11.25 crore, smashed his first IPL century. His undefeated 106 off 47 deliveries was a major factor in SRH reaching the second-highest total in the league (286/6). Abhishek had only scored 24 off 11 in the previous game, so this was his second consecutive poor performance. SRH ended up winning by 44 runs to start their IPL 2025 campaign.
