On Sunday, March 4, during Match 54 of the current Indian Premier League between the Punjab Kings and the Lucknow Super Giants, Shashank Singh hit a massive maximum off Mayank Yadav. The ball left the HPCA Stadium after being struck so forcefully that it rattled the roof.
Mayank hit a massive six with a back-of-a-length delivery that was crushed over a deep backward square leg. While cheering on her team from the stands, Preity Zinta, a co-owner of PBKS, was astounded by the shot’s pure skill.
The fourth ball of Mayank’s fourth over was when this strange thing happened. In the end, the speedster let up a staggering 60 runs throughout his four-over stint. In the first innings, he failed to take any wickets. At the completion of 20 overs, the hosts had scored 236/5. The Shreyas Iyer-led team’s leading scorer was Prabhsimran Singh (91 off 48). Iyer scored 45 runs off of just 25 balls in the end.

As for LSG, Akash Singh (2/30 in four overs) was the pick of the bowlers. Digvesh Rathi picked up a couple of wickets too. However, he ended up conceding 46 runs in his four overs. Conceding 57 in his four overs, Avesh Khan returned wicketless too.
Ahead of the game, PBKS and LSG stood at fourth and seventh place, respectively. This particular game is the first out of the three games which will be played at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala in IPL 2025.
