At the age of 38, Shikhar Dhawan announced his retirement from international cricket in August 2024. Towards the end of his career, his personal life took a backseat. He shared a glimpse of his life philosophy while talking about his bond with his son and meeting the child.
“I haven’t seen my son in two years, and I haven’t spoken to him in a year. You learn to live with it, even though it has been challenging. I talk to him spiritually and miss him. Through affirmations, I feel as though I’m holding him and talking to him every day. I invested my spiritual energy on it. I can’t bring my son back any other way. My melancholy won’t help. NDTV Sports cited Dhawan as stating, “I manifest.”
“I already get the impression that I’m playing with him and talking to him. During my meditation sessions, I imagine those things. “I have only seen my son for two and a half years of his life, even though he is now eleven years old,” Dhawan said.
In ODIs, Shikhar Dhawan scored more than 6,000 runs for India.
Regarding Shikhar Dhawan’s career, the southpaw was among the top Indian hitters in One-Day Internationals. During his 167-match career, the Delhi batsman amassed 6,793 runs at an average of 44.11. His contribution to India at the ICC events with the bat is what most people remember him for.
