This time, well-known singer Shreya Ghoshal has been confirmed to play at the grand opening event at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday, March 22.
The Indian Premier League has been a show over the years, and the 18th edition of the competition, which is scheduled for 2025, is expected to be even better. The opening ceremony is a traditional act that marks the start of every IPL event. In past editions, opening performers have included A.R. Rahman, Sonu Nigam, Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapoor, Arijit Singh, Amitabh Bachchan, and Saif Ali Khan, among many others.
The event will take place immediately prior to the match between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the reigning champion Kolkata Knight Riders. On Saturday, Ghoshal, who is well-known for songs like Mere Dholna, Barso Re, and Ghar More Pardesiya, will light up the stage with her beautiful voice.

Alongside the artist, well-known Bollywood actress Disha Patani will be spotted celebrating with her dance performance on stage. With some sassy steps to some of her popular dance numbers, Disha, who is well-known for her appearances in films like Baaghi 2, Malang, and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, will be whipping the crowd at the historic Eden Gardens into a frenzy.

The ICC chairman and former BCCI secretary Jay Shah is also scheduled to attend the IPL Opening Ceremony prior to the 2025 edition’s start, according to a recent report. In his capacity as BCCI secretary, Shah has played a significant role in advancing the IPL’s brand. Under Shah’s leadership, the league’s broadcasting and streaming capabilities exploded, and the ICC chair will be eager to watch his successors take it to even greater heights.
The 18th IPL will commence on March 22 in Kolkata, with the final set to be played on May 26, the venue for which is yet to be decided.
