Shreyanka Patil ruled out of WPL 2025, RCB names Sneh Rana as replace

In the Women’s Premier League 2024, Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s standout bowler was Shreyanka Patil. With 13 wickets, the spinner ended as the top wicket-taker and was named the Purple Cap and Emerging Player of the Season. She also gained prominence on the Indian women’s squad as a result of this. However, the 22-year-old is struggling with an ailment and was unable to play in the opening WPL 2025 match.

On February 14, RCB played Gujarat Giants in the WPL 2025 season opener at Vadodara’s Kotambi Stadium. Due to her inability to recuperate from a shin injury in time.

The Karnataka spinner’s injury has now forced her to miss the event, and Sneh Rana, an all-rounder, has been selected by the team to take her place.

It will be interesting to watch how the team handles the abrupt changes of losing important players at the beginning of the tournament, especially now Shreyanka has joined the reigning champions’ growing list of injured players.

Speaking about Rana, she had already participated in 12 games for GG and had twice served as captain when Beth Mooney was hurt. Fortunately, RCB has signed her for the current edition of the WPL 2025 auctions after she failed to sell at the last one. Earlier this week, Rana had also accompanied RCB to Vadodara for the team’s preseason training.
