At the Champions Trophy 2025 final between India and New Zealand on Sunday, March 9, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Shreyas Iyer hit a huge maximum off Glenn Phillips’ bowling that went 109 meters.
India needed 86 runs from 84 deliveries after 36 overs. On the fifth ball of the 33rd, the preceding boundary had been hit. However, an aggressive Iyer easily and gracefully hammered Iyer’s third delivery.
Iyer dropped down on one knee to smoke the ball over the deep midwicket fence for a huge six after floating just outside off stump.

On the very next ball, Kyle Jamieson missed a simple chance that was heading his way at long-on.
Shreyas Iyer, however, missed his half-century once more.
Rachin Ravindra made a wonderful catch at backward square leg, dismissing him on 48.
The game is perfectly poised after Axar’s departure.
During the fourth-wicket stand with Iyer, the hitter at the other end was Axar Patel. However, the all-rounder was dismissed after a mishit to long-off. Axar knocked 29 runs off 40 balls and was back in the hut. As the match moved into its final stretch, Hardik Pandya joined KL Rahul in the middle, and from this point on, it was anybody’s to win.
At the completion of their 50 overs earlier in the day, India had held New Zealand to a total of 251/7. The highest scorer, Daryl Mitchell, had a calm 63. With 53 off 40 deliveries, Michael Bracewell finished undefeated. Between them, Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav took a few wickets. In his 10-over stint, Ravindra Jadeja took one wicket while giving up just 30 runs.
