Shreyas Iyer admitted ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final that he slept for barely four hours after assisting Punjab Kings (PBKS) to defeat Mumbai Indians (MI) in Qualifier 2.
The PBKS captain starred against MI, striking an unbeaten 87 off 41 balls at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. His knock helped PBKS win by five wickets, chasing down a 204-run goal in 19 overs with five wickets remaining.
The IPL 2025 final will take place on Tuesday in Ahmedabad between PBKS and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Both teams have yet to win the IPL title. However, one of them will be able to break the jinx at the end of the final.
“I could not sleep. I only had four hours of sleep and I’m here. I went into my room. And then the next thing I know, I’m here doing the PC,” Shreyas stated during the pre-match press conference on Monday, June 2 (via Times of India).
Shreyas described his performance against MI as the greatest he has ever had in the IPL. “Top most knock I have played in the IPL,” the Mumbai batsman said on Monday.
