Following the match, captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Shreyas Iyer, spoke up to express his disappointment at the result and to emphasize that they needed to move on and concentrate on their next tasks.
In the thirty-first match of the current Indian Premier League (IPL), the Rajasthan Royals defeated the very successful Kolkata Knight Riders. On Tuesday, April 16, both sides clashed at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens. The hosts set a huge goal for themselves in the match, scoring 223 runs.
The Royals were having difficulty reaching the number as a result of some of their batters missing big hits. Jos Buttler’s knock contributed to the Royals’ victory in the game. The game was won by his team by two wickets thanks to his outstanding batting performance of 107 runs in 60 deliveries.
“Emotions were all over the place; it was a bitter pill to swallow. I didn’t anticipate finding ourselves in this predicament. The game is humorous, and Rovman struck the ball nicely. What transpired is difficult to describe; you just have to accept it and go on. Now is the time to make sure you bowl your best deliveries; one misfire here or there and you’ll be removed from the game. India Today cited Iyer as stating, “I’m glad it happened here instead of in the second half of the tournament.”

In addition, Sunil Narine received a great deal of appreciation from Shreyas Iyer for his outstanding century in the first innings and his two wickets in the second. The captain praised Narine as a valuable member of the team.
“It’s important to reflect and return stronger. When he takes the batting in each game, Narine demonstrates his value to the team. With that kind of character, I’m pleased to have him on the squad,” Iyer remarked.

Additionally, he gave an explanation for his choice to allow Varun Chakravarthy to bowl the match’s last over—the over in which Buttler won the game.
“I decided to slow down the pace and give it to Varun Chakravarthy since Buttler was hitting clean. He hit the target cleanly as well. Let it all go and take it all in—relaxing and revitalizing are the main goals. We played hard, and it’s critical that we learn from our mistakes and come back stronger after two to three days, Iyer added.
