The 17th IPL saw Gujarat Titans (GT) hand Rajasthan Royals (RR) its first loss in a thrilling match played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, Rahul Tewatia, and Rashid Khan spearheaded GT’s batting lineup, though, and they rose to the occasion to help the team win by three wickets. GT won the game on the very last ball after successfully pursuing a challenging goal of 197 runs.
RR had won their first four games of the season, demonstrating their stellar form. Their 20 overs yielded a formidable total of 196/3, mostly because to two outstanding centuries from Sanju Samson (68* off 38) and Riyan Parag (76 off 48).

Veteran pundit Harsha Bhogle congratulated Gill on GT’s third victory following the game, but he also implied that his team had come too late to win.

The GT captain also stated that they were optimistic in their ability to reach their goal of 45 runs in the last three overs. This mentality helped GT pull off an amazing victory, which was complemented by Tewatia’s (22 off 11) and Rashid Khan’s (24 off 11) outstanding performances.

“The idea was that we could easily reach our target of 45 in three overs. From a mathematical perspective, it seems that both batters must score roughly 22 runs in nine balls, and if one of them reaches base two or three balls earlier, Gill continues.
Speaking on his removal and Rashid-Tewatia’s outstanding finish, he said, “I would have loved to finish the game, but I’m really happy with how Rashid bhai and Rahul bhai did it.” We dominated almost 50% of the game last night as well, but our weak points were really poor. It feels great to win the game on the final ball. Gill said, “You always want someone like Rashid on your team because he’s such a tremendous player.
With six points, GT is now ranked sixth in the standings. Their next home game is scheduled for April 17th against the Delhi Capitals.
