In the current IPL 2024 (Indian Premier League), the Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans (GT) are having difficulties. The 2022 winners have only been able to win two of the five games they have played in the competition, losing the other three.
Recently, on Sunday, April 7, GT lost their game against the Lucknow Super Giants at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Gujarat bowled first and, because of some outstanding bowling, restricted Lucknow to a manageable total of 163 runs. But that’s when everything went wrong for the team while you were chasing the target. After scoring 31 and 19 runs, respectively, openers Sai Sudharshan and Shubman Gill were sent back to the pavilion.
Vijay Shankar scored 17 runs, Rahul Tewatia added 30, and Kane Williamson left the game after just one run. Gujarat lost the match by 33 runs, as Lucknow’s outstanding bowling forced them to settle for just 130 runs. It’s reasonable to say that captain Shubman Gill was unimpressed with what he witnessed when he spoke about the match after it had concluded. Examining Gujarat’s batting lineup, the star batsman felt that their effort let the team down.

“We had a bad batting effort, but it was a nice wicket to bat on. Although we had a respectable start, we were unable to recover after losing wickets in the middle. Our bowlers were outstanding; they held them to 160 or so, but our hitters let us down, Gill was cited by NDTV as saying.
A player like Miller has the ability to turn a game around in a few overs. Shubman Gill
Shubman Gill also discussed the ailment that has kept standout batter David Miller out of the lineup. The captain described the big-hitter from South Africa as a guy who can alter the course of the game in a few minutes. Additionally, he conveyed his dissatisfaction at not being able to effectively utilize the final powerplay phase, which altered the course of the game going forward.
We could have easily reached this total, in my opinion, because Miller is the type of player who can turn a game around in a few overs. (After he was dismissed): “I wanted to make the most of the last over of the powerplay, but I tried to play a little too square and missed that ball.” We were excited to limit our bowlers to 160–165, since it was amazing to see them bowl,” Gill said.
