Shreyas Iyer spoke out following India’s amazing 99-run victory against Australia in the second ODI and praised Shubman Gill for his outstanding recent 50-over performances. The opener once more scored a brilliant century against the Kangaroos in the second One-Day International in Indore, and he and Shreyas combined for 200 runs to help India score 399 runs overall.
Iyer received appreciation from Shubman Gill in a video made available by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), who claimed that the Mumbai-born player shifted the momentum as he entered the crease.
“The way he came in and took on the charge changed the momentum for us,” Shubman Gill remarked following the game.
Shubman Gill appeared captivating from the other end, Shreyas retorted. The first batter scored 104 runs off of 97 pitches, giving him 1230 runs for the year. He wished that Gill would maintain his winning ways and keep winning games for the national team.
“He has been outstanding the entire time. His ability to turn strong starts into large scores is simply amazing. From the other end, just seeing him play those strokes was captivating. I sincerely hope that he keeps playing well for India and that his path continues,” Iyer remarked.

Iyer was named Player of the Match in the meantime for his remarkable century. Australia suffered two quick wicket losses in the form of Steven Smith and Matthew Short. Later, David Warner attempted to gain momentum by scoring a half-century, but Ravichandran Ashwin took Warner out. He and Ravindra Jadeja both claimed three wickets. Sean Abbott ultimately scored 54 runs off of 36 pitches, but his efforts were ineffective.
Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc are also anticipated to return, and the Men in Blue will welcome back Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and Kuldeep Yadav.
