Siddhesh Veer’s brilliant knock led Raigad Royals to a stunning five-run win over the table-topping Eagle Nashik Titans
The 13th match of the ongoing Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) 2025 on June 12.
The Royals, who desperately needed a win to be in contention for a spot in the top half of the standings, played the Nashik Titans, who had gone unbeaten in their previous four games.
After winning the toss and deciding to bat first, they suffered an early defeat when Harsh Sanghvi fell on the first ball. Siddhesh, on the other hand, maintained one end firmly and finished unbeaten on 104 from just 62 balls, with nine fours and six maximums to his name.
Omkar Khatpe (30 off 19) and Harsh Mogaveera (22 off 13) supplied brief support for their in-form opener. Raigad Royals eventually finished with 216/5 in 20 overs. Nashik’s Prashant Solanki and Mukesh Choudhary each took two wickets, while Yogesh Dongre added one.
The Titans got off to a slow start while chasing a revised objective due to a DLS approach, losing Mandar Bhandari early on. Arshin Kulkarni (38 off 24) and Sahil Parakh (47 off 20) put up a 52-run stand to keep the team’s hopes alive in the chase.
Later, Rohan Damle’s 34 from 23 was insufficient, as wickets fell at regular intervals. Rain forced the match to conclude early, limiting Titans to 135/4 after 13.4 overs. According to the DLS approach, they fell short by 5 runs. Tanay Sanghvi was the Royals’ most effective bowler, taking two wickets for 22 runs in his session. Vicky Ostwal and Sagar Jadhav also took one wicket each.
Despite the loss, Eagle Nashik Titans lead the MPL 2025 standings with 8 points from 5 matches. Meanwhile, with this victory, Raigad Royals moved up to fourth place with four points from four matches played.
