Mohammed Siraj made a major mistake on Day 4 of the fifth Test between England and India at The Oval in London, dropping the dangerous Harry Brook while he was batting on 19. The right-handed batter punished India by smashing a defiant century, putting England on the verge of a series-clinching win.
The incident occurred in the 35th over of England’s run chase. They were in a tough situation at 137/3, needing another 210 runs to win the match. Brook attempted a pull shot off Prasidh Krishna’s back-of-a-length ball, but only got a top-edge that sailed to Mohammed Siraj, who was standing at fine leg. The Hyderabad seamer took the catch calmly, but he was unable to consider the boundary cushions. He walked on it after catching the ball, and the England fans went crazy.
Krishna began cheering the wicket since he felt the catch was taken cleanly. However, when Siraj grabbed his head in his hand, Krishna realised that he had surrendered six runs instead of taking an important wicket. The two Indian pacers exchanged disgruntled glances at that point.
Out? Six!?

However, at the stroke of Lunch, Siraj rushed to Krishna and apologised to him for his blip.
The latter forgave the senior statesman and the duo embraced each other.
However, the drop proved to be very costly for India. Brook took the Indian bowlers to the cleaners and smashed 111 off just 98 balls. He forged a counter-attacking 195-run partnership off 211 deliveries with Joe Root, who also brought up his 39th Test century.
At Stumps on Day 4, England finished on 339/6. They need another 35 runs to win the Test match. Meanwhile, India are in search of four wickets. The second new ball is also due in 3.4 overs.
