Six people are hospitalized as a large fight breaks out during Bangladesh’s Celebrity Cricket League.

During a Celebrity Cricket League match in Bangladesh, the cricket field—typically used for the graceful and deft fight of bat and ball—short-livedly changed into a WWE-style arena.

In an unexpected turn of events, the cricketing community recently witnessed an extraordinary scene.  Cricket fans were left perplexed and interested by the furious argument that took place between two star-studded teams led by acclaimed directors Mostafa Kamal Raz and Dipankar Dipon.

The event in issue started after the match umpire made a disputed judgment that one of the opposing teams did not agree with. A heated argument that turned into a full-fledged brawl as a result of what happened left six people hurt and required their urgent treatment. The entire incident was documented on film.

In cricket, such player conflicts are incredibly uncommon. While arguments and intense discussions amongst spectators are not entirely unheard of, it is unusual to see players physically fighting on the field. It was clear that feelings were running high throughout this Celebrity Cricket League match, with one prominent celebrity in attendance clearly upset over what they saw as an egregious mistake on the umpire’s side.

However, this act was not a unique one, since the cricketing community had already experienced another regrettable episode earlier this month. Chaos broke out in the stadium’s seats following an exciting India-Sri Lanka Super-4 match at Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium. Immediately following India’s 41-run victory over Sri Lanka, this brawl broke out.

A Sri Lankan spectator started a fight with another supporter in the viral video footage, and the other fan responded by throwing many punches. A female police officer spoke to a small group of irate fans in the midst of the chaos in an effort to diffuse it.

Although the reason for this conflict is still unknown, it appears that it happened as the stadium was starting to empty after the game. The participants in the fight had to be separated by other onlookers. India won the match, and they went on to defeat Sri Lanka in the tournament’s championship game.
