Nowadays, cricket is not limited to playing on village greens or in stadiums. Sixes Cricket Club in the UK has transformed the game into a contemporary social event by fusing thrilling gameplay with top-notch eating. With its Great British BBQ food and cutting-edge cricket technology, the Club draws both amateur and professional players.
Sixes Cricket Club, founded in December 2020 in Fulham by Calum Mackinnon and Andy Waugh, offers an inclusive environment where players of all skill levels can take pleasure in the game.
In the Belfast technological experience, users can enter “cages” with nets and compete against virtual bowlers. In addition to a Hundred-style version created in collaboration with the England and Wales Cricket Board, players may select from six different game modes and difficulty levels.
With 18 locations in the UK, including Oxford, Southampton, Leicester, and London, this idea has quickly gained popularity.
Sixes intends to reach a worldwide audience by expanding internationally to the Caribbean and the US and adding 20 to 30 more locations. Over 1,500 franchise enquiries have already been sent to the brand, the majority of which are from the US.
The 4CAST Investment Group has invested in the project on behalf of prominent cricket players like Jofra Archer, KL Rahul, and Jason Roy, as well as cricket greats Ben Stokes and Stuart Broad. In addition to increasing cricket’s appeal to younger and more varied audiences, their engagement with Sixes’ aims to make the game more approachable and pleasurable.
“More people now play cricket at Sixes in the UK than play the sport itself,” Co-founder Mackinnon said.
