On Thursday, February 20, Sourav Ganguly, the former captain of India and the former president of the BCCI, almost avoided an accident. Ganguly was traveling to Burdwan for an event when his automobile was involved in a collision on the Durgapur Expressway at Dantanpur.
Sourav Ganguly sat in a Range Rover with a group of automobiles following him. His automobile was abruptly overtaken by a lorry, causing the driver to brake, causing the other cars behind him to crash into each other. Thankfully, no injuries or fatalities were recorded during the incident, and the vehicles’ damage was not significant.
A bus allegedly struck Sana’s car on Diamond Harbour Road in Kolkata in January, resulting in an accident for the daughter of the former India captain. Nevertheless, she was unharmed and the car only sustained minor damage.
The captain who won the Champions Trophy in 2002 held an occasion at Burdwan University for those who were unaware. He shared some of his journey’s anecdotes and engaged with the students and university officials about the future of Indian cricket.
“I can’t handle it. It’s wonderful to be in Burdwan. That you invited me makes me much more delighted. For a long time, the Burdwan Sports Association (BDS) asked me to attend. According to Hindustan Times, Sourav Ganguly remarked, “It feels great to be here today.”
Sourav Ganguly is employed with the Capitals.
In addition to playing for the Delhi Capitals Women’s team in the WPL, Sourav Ganguly has been a member of the team in all other T20 tournaments, including the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the International League T20 (ILT20).
The team (Dubai Capitals) defeated the Desert Vipers by four wickets in the ILT20 final to win the league. This was the team’s first championship in all T20 leagues. English wicketkeeper Sam Billings was the captain of the Dubai Capitals.
Additionally, in October 2024, Ganguly was named Director of Cricket at JSW Sports after serving as the BCCI President.
