The Delhi Capitals’ Director of Cricket, Sourav Ganguly, is confident that the David Warner-led team can win all of the remaining games and make the crucial playoffs despite suffering five straight losses in the ongoing Indian Premier League. Nothing has worked out well for the Capitals thus far, so there is a lot of space for growth.
Notably, middle-order batters have yet to join the party, while David Warner’s strike rate has been the talk of the town so far. In spite of this, Sourav Ganguly is certain that the team can turn the tide and he urged everyone to play with pride.
“We must put this in the past. Support the captain and each other, and we’ll return to the following game with new energy. There are still nine games left, and we can win nine of them. We can’t get much worse than this; we can only get better. At this point, it doesn’t really matter if we qualify or not for anything.
“However, let’s take a peek inside, play for ourselves and our pride, and see if we can make it. We are a lot superior team than what is now taking place on the pitch. We will do that in just one game if we need to. In a video posted by the Delhi Capitals, Sourav Ganguly stated, “Let’s stick to David (Warner), he’s the captain and he’s the most important member in the team.
Kuldeep, please never apologize to me. Ricky Ponting
Ricky Ponting praised Kuldeep Yadav after the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore for his outstanding performance. The World Cup-winning captain emphasized that the left-arm spinner had expressed regret to him for his bad performance against the Mumbai Indians and had later pleaded with him to never apologize again but to instead recover more quickly.
“Excellent, excellent bowling performance. They started off strong by putting us to the test right away. Our attitude and devotion returned, and we dragged it along with us. Where are you, Kuldeep? Last game left you disappointed, didn’t it? At the end of the game, you did apologize to me. So, buddy, never apologize to me or anyone else for what occurs on the cricket pitch. I want you to make a strong recovery, and today’s bowling performance was excellent with 2/23 off four. “Well done,” said Ponting.
