At the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, (SRH) Gujarat Titans defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by a resounding 7 wickets in Match 19 of the Indian Premier League 2025. The Titans won in just 16.4 overs after chasing a modest goal of 153.
After being called in to bat, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 152/8 in their 20 overs. Travis Head, the opener, scored eight points right away, and Ishan Kishan added seventeen. Heinrich Klaasen put on the best show, smashing 27 off 19 with a short 31 off 34 from Nitish Reddy. But as Mohammed Siraj (4/17) swept down the batting order with a furious spell, Hyderabad found it difficult to form meaningful partnerships. Prasidh Krishna (2/25) and Sai Kishore (2/24) both had equally great ball skills.
Gujarat Titans responded by overcoming an early setback in which they lost Jos Buttler (0) and Sai Sudharsan (5 runs) cheaply. However, captain Shubman Gill, who displayed superb timing and placement, led the chase with a sophisticated 61* off 43 deliveries. Sherfane Rutherford and Washington Sundar provided him with strong backing.
The Gujarat Titans moved up to second place in the standings with this victory, their third overall. They also defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad for the fourth time in a row. Conversely, SRH is currently lingering at the bottom of the table after suffering their fourth consecutive defeat in the IPL 2025.
