Matches that have already been played once in the league will become more common as IPL 2025 enters its second half. In the current tournament, the second league stage match between SRH and MI will be Match No. 41.
After an incredible comeback in which they won three straight games, including their most recent victory over the Chennai Super Kings, their bitter rivals and fellow five-time winners, the Mumbai Indians have moved up to the centre of the points standings. After a very slow start, CSK needed some aggression from rookie Ayush Mhatre, who is only 17 years old, to get the innings going. Jasprit Bumrah and other MI bowlers were at the top of their game, but Chennai managed to reach a manageable total with to fifties from Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja.
Despite Ryan Rickelton being content to play second fiddle, Rohit Sharma proceeded to display his signature determination. After then, Surkyakumar Yadav took over the stage and pummelling the park with a careless CSK onslaught. With unbeaten fifties from both Sharma and Yadav, MI won by nine wickets.
In contrast, SRH has been weak in the tournament, winning only two of their seven games and having a slim chance of making the playoffs. Their most recent match was the rematch between the two teams. With Will Jacks’ help, Bumrah managed to keep SRH to a low score once more. Additionally, Jacks arrived with the bat to stop what appeared to be a slip and clearly swung the game in MI’s direction. Even though there was some drama in the last runs, Hardik Pandya’s cameo helped MI go home early, and Rickelton, Rohit, and Suryakumar Yadav all had starts that contributed.

Player battles to watch out for in SRH vs MI, Match 41, IPL 2025
1. Rohit Sharma vs Pat Cummins
Rohit Sharma made his highest score of the tournament in the last game, but now he will have to come face to face against Cummins. The SRH skipper dismissed India’s Test and ODI skipper in the reverse fixture to further improve his very good record against Sharma. In the IPL, Sharma has made 40 runs in 33 balls at a strike rate of 121.21 and dismissed four times at an average of just 10.00.
2. Abhishek Sharma vs Hardik Pandya
Abhishek in general does not have a good record against any of MI’s premier pacers (Jasprit Bumrah, Deepak Chahar, Trent Boult and Pandya), but has copped the worst of it from MI’s skipper. While all four of them have dismissed Abhishek twice each in the IPL, Pandya has conceded just 9 runs from 10 balls with an average of 4.50 and strike-rate of 90.
