Heinrich Klaasen and the Mumbai Indians (MI) faced off at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday, April 23, and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lost. In Match 41 of the Indian Premier League 2025, the Hardik Pandya-led team prevailed by seven wickets with 26 balls remaining in a lopsided match.
SRH was invited to bat first after Pandya won the toss. To dampen the home team’s spirits, Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar each took two wickets during the powerplay. With 35 runs scored in the ninth over, Hyderabad lost half of their team, including Aniket Verma, cheaply. Abhinav Manohar and Heinrich Klaasen put up a valiant 143/8 thanks to Klaasen’s brilliant performance and their 99-run partnership off 63 balls.
Ryan Rickelton was removed by Jaydev Unadkat in the second over of the reply. But Will Jacks and Rohit Sharma placed the five-time champions in a commanding position with an additional 64 runs for the second wicket. Rohit scored an incredible half-century after Jacks squandered a strong start. MI won their fourth straight game to move up to No. 3 in the standings, and Suryakumar Yadav added the final touches with a quick cameo.
Key Moments from SRH vs MI, Match 41 of IPL 2025
1. Boult, Chahar give MI early advantage with new-ball mastery
Boult and Chahar combined well to dismiss the first four batters in SRH’s batting order. After being reduced to 13/4 in 4.1 overs, the 2016 champions were always behind the eight-ball. Boult came back to bowl the last over and picked up two more wickets to finish with excellent figures of 4/26 in his four overs.

The South African wicketkeeper-batter was in no mood to throw in the white towel despite his teammates falling like nine pins at the top of the order. He smashed 71 runs off 44 balls, hitting nine fours and two sixes. Klaasen almost single-handedly took SRH to a respectable total.
