Spinner Adam Zampa’s shoulder injury has forced him out of the IPL 2025, which is a major setback to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He contributed significantly to the squad with the ball and played two games for the team this season. In both games, he made the much-needed breakthroughs (1-46 and 1-48), but the loss has already resulted in his elimination from the competition.
His comeback didn’t materialise, despite the franchise’s best efforts, and he will now have to miss the entire tournament. He sustained and recovered from a shoulder injury sustained during the 2023 ODI World Cup. But the player had to take a plane back home when the problem reappeared during the IPL. The forthcoming Twenty20 International series between Australia and the West Indies is also anticipated to be missed by him.
Adam Zampa has since been replaced by Karnataka batsman R Smaran for SRH. By chasing down a massive 246-run total,
SRH defeated the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in a thrilling victory that helped them re-enter the tournament. They prevailed by eight wickets because of Abhishek Sharma’s incredible 141-run innings off of 55 balls. The South Paw’s innings included ten sixes and fourteen boundaries.
The SRH top order eventually delivered what many had anticipated after a string of poor performances, scoring 171 runs in their opening stand. Travis Head, who had already amassed 66 runs off 37 balls, was the only hitter out of Hyderabad’s chase to be removed. Since they initially gave up a high total, SRH’s bowling was subpar. But in four overs, Harshal Patel got four wickets and gave up forty-two runs.
For the Hyderabad-based team to stay on course and maintain their prospects of qualifying, this victory was crucial. Their team combination did not appear confident in the first games, even though they won their tournament opener against the Rajasthan Royals, even though they had finished second the season before. The remainder of the games, however, were terrible for the brand. Following consecutive losses, they have finally returned to their winning ways.
