The team for Sri Lanka Cricket’s forthcoming ODI series against the West Indies was just revealed. The first ODI between the two teams will take place at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, October 20, marking the start of the three-game series.
Prior to the series, Sri Lanka defeated the West Indies in a Twenty20 International series. The first Twenty20 International of the series was lost by Sri Lanka, but they won the next two games to secure the series.
It is noteworthy that Sri Lanka has been playing well lately, and the team will try to replicate its recent success in the T20I series by defeating the Windies in the ODI series.
The top-order hitters’ exceptional batting performance was the key: Charith Asalanka
Following their victory in the third Twenty20 International, Sri Lanka captain Charith Asalanka spoke out about his team’s performance during the series and acknowledged that the top order’s performance in the match was excellent.
“In this game, the top order hitters gave it their all and batted really well.” Even against India, we played good cricket. In the second game, we needed a little boost of momentum, which we got. (If he was worried about losing the toss.) Though not that much, I became rather alarmed when they scored more than 160. However, I believed we could succeed if our top order batted effectively.
