India came dangerously close to winning the series in England in 2021, however COVID-19 forced the series to end, with the fifth and final Test of the series being rescheduled till 2022. To end the series evenly matched, England prevailed in the match. When the team led by Rohit Sharma visits the UK in 2025 to play for the Pataudi Trophy, they will be determined to win this time.
Former England international Stuart Broad predicted that the series will be a “crackerjack” after giving it some thought. The five-match Test series might be Virat Kohli’s final dance in England, he said, adding that India has depth and skill in red-ball cricket. Additionally, he stated that the Ben Stokes-led team will be competitive, particularly following a humiliating series in India.
Stuart Broad also predicted that the series will be quite competitive and that it wouldn’t be biassed in any way.
He predicts that if the weather holds up, the Test series may conclude on equal terms and feels that the final Test will determine the series’ conclusion.
It’s going to be an incredible series, in my opinion. Virat may be wrapping off his tour of England. Cricket Paper cited Broad as stating, “They’ve got so much talent and so much depth, and England are slightly more youthful and less experienced but have a huge amount of talent and play this front-foot style of cricket.”
“You want to watch every ball of that series as a fan. I believe it will be close, and England will be right on the money. It is unlikely to be a five-nil or a four-nil; instead, it will likely come down to the last Test. I believe it will be 2-2 if the weather cooperates,” he continued.

Notably, Leeds’ Headingley will host the first match of the five-match Test series on June 20, 2025. The locations of the remaining Test matches are Edgbaston, Lord’s, Old Trafford, and the Oval, in that order.
