In the domestic circuit, India captain Suryakumar Yadav has returned following the conclusion of the Twenty20 International series against England. With the bat, the T20I maverick is having a bad time, and his performance against England was lacklustre. Despite the top order being dominant in the game’s shortest format, he only managed to score 28 runs in five innings, and his form has become a concern for the squad.
It’s important to remember that he played for India in the 2023 World Cup but did not have an outstanding innings. He was excluded from the 2025 Champions Trophy, and the batter had just expressed his wish to represent his country in white. He only scored nine runs in his innings against Haryana before being removed by Sumit Kumar’s in-swinging delivery.

Mumbai’s quarterfinal decline is prevented by Kotian.
On the opening day of the third quarterfinal between Mumbai and Haryana, the former chose to bat first after winning the toss. A strong 91 runs off 178 balls from Shams Mulani gave relief after the first six batters were dismissed for negligible scores. Tanush Kotian, an all-round bowler, saved the day as tail-lenders did everything they could to keep Mumbai in the game.
With 85 runs off 154 balls, Kotian is still undefeated and has already hit 11 boundaries. Mumbai is 278 at the close of Day 1 after losing eight wickets.
Sumit also supplied two scalps for Haryana, while Anshul Kamboj starred with three wickets. Each of Jayant Yadav, Ajit Chahal, and Anuj Thakral took one wicket. On Day 2, Kotian will return to Mumbai’s batting lineup with Mohit Avasthi as his partner. He hopes to build on his recent success with the bat and get a lot of runs under his belt.
