The Men in Blue easily chased down the target of 242 in the India vs. Pakistan Champions Trophy match, and the game’s star was Virat Kohli, who scored his first Champions Trophy century against the bitter rivals, who could now be eliminated from the competition.
The analysts took notice of one peculiar moment on the pitch, despite the fact that it was another chase masterclass from the Indian superstar.
Sunil Gavaskar, a former cricket player for India who is now a broadcaster, was not pleased with Virat Kohli for blocking a fielder’s throw.
According to the 75-year-old, Kohli was fortunate that the Pakistani team did not file an appeal for blocking the pitch following the incident. Perhaps there would have been a run or two available for overthrow, he added, and the fielder who was supposed to back up did not cover enough ground.
“No one is retreating. It would have been necessary for the midwicket fielder to dive, but he didn’t have to stop the ball’s movement. “Kohli is fortunate that no one has filed an appeal,” Gavaskar remarked.

The little master wasn’t the only one who criticised Kohli for this; Ramiz Raja, a former Pakistani player and 1992 ODI World Cup winner, made a funny comment while complimenting Kohli’s game awareness in the last over.
Raja laughed and said, “And here I was, raving about his game-awareness.”
Regarding India’s campaign, they have won their first two games and could advance to the tournament’s semi-finals. They will next play New Zealand on March 2 at the Dubai International Stadium.
