Virat Kohli has adopted certain adjustments in his T20 batting during the past several months, according to Sunil Gavaskar. The cricket specialist in the JioHotstar dugout spoke about Virat’s shift in intention to play lofted shots. According to the JioStar analyst, Kohli has started making lofted shots from the start rather than after being set.
Gavaskar believed that while the bowlers were expecting him to play drives and flick strokes, they were hit with lofted shots, which made them reconsider their approach. The former cricket player from India claimed that his intention to play lofted shots considerably early has been the main difference over the past season and a half.
“Those lofted drives used to occur later in the innings, but the fact that he is now trying to take chances from ball one is having a significant impact. His drives and flicks were expected of bowlers, but now they see the ball crossing the infield for boundaries. “That shift in perspective has confused the bowlers, and it’s working out great for him,” Gavaskar continued.
According to Sunil Gavaskar, “Rajat is fortunate to have that environment.”
The 64(32) that Rajat Patidar scored with the bat was a major factor in RCB’s victory. The RCB captain built his innings on Virat’s 67 (42), which set the tone, and made sure the team got off to a strong start in the middle overs phase. Rajat had the assurance of being under a strong leadership unit in the RCB, according to Gavaskar.
“He certainly seems liberated as the leader, and he knows he’s got a solid group around him,” said Gavaskar. In the opinion of the former Indian cricket player, Dinesh Karthik has greatly impacted Patidar’s leadership and has benefited RCB.
“Rajat is fortunate to be in that setting, where everyone is driven to succeed. After going seventeen years without a title, they now know what it takes to win. “Others are also contributing their experience to help advance the team with a calm, easygoing captain,” asserted the former Indian opener on the JioStar panel.
