At the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy bowled outstanding spells and were ultimately responsible for CSK’s lowest IPL score ever. Narine recovered and took 3/13 in his four-over period after dropping a sitter to allow Vijay Shankar to bat a few more deliveries, while Chakravarthy concluded with figures of 4-0-22-2.
KKR benefited from Narine and Chakravarthy’s collaboration as they successfully navigated the CSK middle order. When he finally got rid of Shankar, who was given two lives, the Indian spinner was the first to start the celebration. After that, Narine sent him a peach-sized delivery that enabled him to fire Rahul Tripathi.

In the second half of CSK’s innings, wickets continued to fall in every over. With a caught behind dismissal, Narine got rid of Ravindra Jadeja while maintaining a tighter line and length. CSK was compelled to use Deepak Hooda as an impact substitution because wickets were falling at regular intervals, however this option did not work out well for them.
MS Dhoni is fired by Sunil Narine in a contentious call.
The ball removed the edge of the star batter’s willow as Hooda attempted to push Chakravarthy’s delivery towards the square leg area. When CSK took their seventh wicket, Vaibhav Arora made no mistakes. At that moment, MS Dhoni made his first appearance in the middle as a skipper in almost two years.
However, a contentious choice cost him his position in the middle, thus his return to leadership did not go as planned. The on-field umpire immediately raised his finger in response to Narine’s request for an LBW dismissal. It was clear from assessments that the ball had a small inside edge before to hitting the pads.
The unusual decision caused the CSK dugout to be disappointed. But Narine got his man and finished with a four-over spell of 3/13. In their 20 overs, Chakravarthy and the West Indian spinner made sure CSK was reduced to their lowest score at the stadium, 103/9.
