During the IPL 2025 match between CSK and KKR at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, Sunil Narine gave Vijay Shankar a big life by dropping a sitter. Shankar was returning to the pavilion after only the second ball of the match had been faced. But because of his drop, Narine managed to score a few runs for both CSK and himself.
A fantastic delivery of a decent length was bowled by Harshit Rana. The batter was not prepared for the ball’s little takeoff and somewhat higher bounce. The right-hander attempted to direct the ball to the area on the side of the leg. However, it took Shankar’s willow’s top edge due to the ball’s lack of speed.

The star batter briefly realised that his nightly outing was over. But Narine missed the ball, so he took a break. The KKR star was positioned exactly where the ball was going to touch down. To get to the ball, the three veterans needed to take a few steps back.
Vijay Shankar is ultimately fired by Varun Chakravarthy.
Narine, however, lacked the mobility to arrive in time. He ultimately missed the ball, costing Shankar a life but also allowing him and Rahul Tripathi to score a few runs. Despite being saddened, Rana was unable to stop the dismissal.
KKR’s game versus CSK got off to a fantastic start with the ball. They had the host team at 18/2 after the first five overs of the game. No batter for CSK was able to assist their team in making progress. The surface wasn’t ideal for batting on, and there wasn’t any intention.
Tripathi and Shankar did their utmost to change tactics and managed to give CSK a small boost in scoring. However, Varun Chakravarthy made sure Shankar’s luck ran out by going back to his second spell. The Tamil Nadu batter, who had twice survived in the middle, was removed by the mystery spinner.
