Ahead of the 17th Indian Premier League season, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore made a significant deal for Mayank Dagar and Shahbaz Ahmed.
Bangalore paid INR 2.4 crore to acquire Shahbaz Ahmed at the 2022 auction, while Sunrisers Hyderabad paid INR 1.8 crore to acquire Dagar. Dagar participated in three games for SRH during the tournament’s 16th season, although he had little impact. As he steps up for Bangalore, he will be hoping for a different result.
In a same vein, Ahmed appeared in ten games for Bangalore in 2022 but was not very successful. We anticipate hearing from someone by Sunday morning (November 26) regarding the same trade. Although there hasn’t been any official confirmation as of yet, there have been rumors circulating that pacer Harshal Patel and star spinner Wanindu Hasaranga may also be left out of the RCB team for the forthcoming season.
Mumbai Indians’ Hardik Pandya will rejoin the team
There have been multiple rumors that Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya is planning to join his old team, the Mumbai Indians, as the trade deadline draws near. According to sources, Mumbai would transfer Pandya for INR 15 crore plus an unknown sum; they won’t receive any players in exchange. Nevertheless, neither the Gujarat Titans nor the Mumbai Indians have made any official announcements in that regard up to this point. November 26 is the official cutoff date for revealing the player retentions.
One of the largest transactions in IPL history will occur if Pandya is sent to Mumbai. In the history of the league, he will also be just the third captain to be traded, behind Ravichandran Ashwin and Ajinkya Rahane. Notably, in 2020, the Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings traded Ashwin and Rahane to the Delhi Capitals, respectively.
