During Match 33 of the current Indian Premier League between the Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday, April 17, a humorous incident involving Suryakumar Yadav checking the left-handed batter’s pockets occurred between the two players. Before the eighth over of the opening innings began, the humorous incident occurred.
Suryakumar Yadav humorously walked up next to Abhishek to search through his pockets for any form of chits as Hardik Pandya was marking his run-up and approaching his bowling mark.
“This one is for the Orange Army” was written on a scrap of paper that Abhishek took out of his pocket when he reached his century. This incidence happened a few days later.

After SRH swept to an eight-wicket victory with nine deliveries remaining, Abhishek went on to score 141 off 55 deliveries against Punjab Kings in that same game to win Player of the Match. Later, Abhishek stated that the knock was dedicated to the franchise’s loyal fans who helped them get through a difficult time before the game.
Regarding the match between MI and SRH, the home team ultimately prevailed by a margin of four wickets. Abhishek became his team’s leading scorer. Despite being given the opportunity to bat first, SRH was only able to reach 162/5 after 20 overs. Suryakumar (26 off 15) was one of four MI players who scored in the 20–30 range.
With that, MI recorded their third win of IPL 2025. As far as SRH are concerned, they lost their fifth match of the ongoing season. The reverse fixture will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday, April 23. That game is scheduled to commence at 7:30 pm (IST) too.
