The Indian ODI and T20I teams for their forthcoming tour to Sri Lanka have been announced by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India). It is noteworthy that while star batsman Suryakumar Yadav was named India’s T20I captain for the series against Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma will captain the ODI team. Even though Hardik Pandya is in the T20I squad, Suryakumar Yadav, with Shubman Gill as his deputy, has been given the captaincy duties.
Not long after Suryakumar Yadav was named captain, an old video of him reappeared.
The top hitter can be seen discussing his duties as captain in the 2023 clip. The film was created following India’s 4-1 victory over Australia and their 1-1 draw in the shortest format match versus South Africa under Suryakumar.
We’ve all played together a lot, whether in state or franchise cricket, so it’s not too hard to grasp one other’s talents and shortcomings. I’m really enjoying my new role and spending time with everyone. In the Star Sports video, Suryakumar Yadav stated, “And off the pitch, we also spend so much time, so the rapport we have on the pitch becomes very good.”

“It’s important for me to keep things simple, I am a process-oriented man, I like to keep things simple and that’s what I try and tell everybody that try and keep things really simple, don’t try and be a different version of yourself,” he stated.

On July 27, India will embark on a trip of Sri Lanka. Beginning on August 1, a three-game T20I series will precede the three-game ODI series that will follow. In addition to Hardik Pandya, players who were rested for the Zimbabwe tour have returned to the team, including Mohammed Siraj, wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, and Arshdeep Singh.
