Suyash Sharma helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) win the IPL this year. The brilliant leg-spinner didn’t take many wickets, but he complemented Krunal Pandya and helped RCB dominate middle overs in numerous matches.
The 22-year-old played in the second Delhi Premier League. Member of Outer Delhi Warriors. Suyash took nine wickets in eight games at 26.89. The Warriors finished ninth in points and missed the playoffs.
During DPL, Suyash Sharma named Chris Gayle RCB’s GOAT in a quick fire.
The West Indies opener replaced Dirk Nannes midway through IPL 2011. He scored a furious century for RCB in his IPL debut. Gayle became an essential member of the RCB squad and won the Orange Cap twice.
The left-handed batsman has the highest IPL score. He scored 175* from 66 balls against Pune Warriors India in 2013. He scored 3163 runs for RCB in 85 matches from 2011 to 2017 at 43.33 and 152.73. Gayle recorded five centuries and 19 50s. His partnership with Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers was called the holy trinity of RCB, as they won several matches together.
It was fitting that Gayle and de Villiers joined Kohli during RCB’s IPL-winning celebrations after the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3. Pictures of the trio lifting the coveted IPL title went viral on social media. Kohli was one of RCB’s star performers in the campaign, finishing with 657 runs in 15 innings at an average of 54.75.
