At the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, India will take on Ireland in their opening encounter of the 2017 T20 World Cup.
The Indian squad decided to go with a different approach, which is why players like Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal are not in the starting lineup for this game. India chose three seamers in the playing XI to bolster their pace attack. In order to improve their batting depth, they also relied on Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja to handle the spin department in a dual capacity. With this strategy, India was able to field a well-rounded lineup with potent bowling and batting.

Furthermore, Virat Kohli and Shivam Dube were added to the Indian squad, combining youthful energy with seasoned wisdom. The seasoned Sanju Samson and the youthful opener Yashasvi Jaiswal were left out as a result of this decision; Samson was unable to maintain his position as Rishabh Pant’s backup wicketkeeper.
The team has been adjusting to the new circumstances, which have been difficult but doable, according to Indian captain Rohit Sharma.
“We’re heading to the bowls. The arrangements have gone smoothly. have been adjusting to these new circumstances. It has presented challenges, but we are all experts. Since we played on a similar pitch, we have some idea of what to anticipate. I understand that it will differ slightly from our usual routine. However, the sport is exactly that. Since we were unsure of the conditions, we reasoned that it would be beneficial to have a target in front of us. Rohit stated, “Kuldeep, Sanju, Jaiswal, and one more guy are missing out.
