The T20 World Cup 2024 program has undergone some alterations, according to the International Cricket Council (ICC), since tickets for the massive event went on sale on Thursday, February 1. Notably, the West Indies and the USA are set to host the tournament’s ninth edition, which is slated to kick off on June 1. On June 1, the USA and Canada will play their inaugural match at Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Dallas.
The dates of the tournament’s two semi-finals have been rescheduled, the ICC said, along with the ticketing process for the grand event.
Notably, the first semi-final will now take place on June 26, with June 27 serving as the reserve day at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago, which was originally slated to host the second semifinal on June 27.
Conversely, the second semi-final will now take place on June 27 at Providence Stadium in Georgetown, Guyana, with June 28 serving as a reserve day. Originally, the first semi-final was scheduled to take place on June 26. The change is made to give the teams that advance to the final more time to travel.
The ICC has already announced the start times for all of the games, with the exception of the tournament final, which will take place on June 29 at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. On June 5, India will take on Ireland at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
The India vs. Pakistan match is scheduled for June 9.
Notably, the eagerly anticipated India vs. Pakistan match is scheduled for Sunday, June 9, in New York. All four of India’s group matches will start at 8:00 p.m. IST today. In order to provide fans with a fair and equal opportunity to apply for tickets, the ICC has developed a public ticket poll for the ticketing process. The ballot will be open from February 1 through February 7.
Fans can apply for up to six tickets for their preferred matches after they visit the website. They will receive an email with a payment link and information on whether or not they have obtained seats. But if customers don’t pay within the allotted time, the tickets will go on general sale on February 22 and will be available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis.
