On Tuesday, June 4, at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, the Netherlands defeated a youthful Nepali team to record their first victory of the T20 World Cup 2024.
Scott Edwards, the captain of the Netherlands, won the toss and chose to field first. The choice was sound since the powerplay cost the Nepali team both of its first games. Anil Sah, who left the game with only 11 runs scored, too struggled to smash several runs off the bat. While Sompal Kami, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Kushal Malla returned to the pavilion at a low cost, skipper Rohit Paudel attempted to form little partnerships with his fellow countrymen. The only player who really stood out at bat was Paudel, who scored 35 off 37 with five boundaries.
The Dutch side dismissed Nepal for a below-average 106 runs in 19.2 overs, thanks to the combined six wickets of Tim Pringle (3/20) and Logan van Beek (3/18).
The Netherlands declares victory in the competition.
Edwards and company had an easy objective in front of them as they pursued it, and one alliance may help them get across the finish line. In the second over of the Netherlands innings, Nepal made a good start by dismissing Michael Levitt. To put his team in a comfortable position, Max O’Dowd played a fantastic inning of 54 off 48. The Dutch camp was concerned in the middle, though, since they lost a few wickets rapidly, but Max and Bas de Leede ensured that they won.

Holland finished their innings at 109/4 and won the match by six wickets with eight balls remaining. Sompal Kami, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Abinash Bohara all claimed one wicket apiece, but Paudel and Co. were unable to hold on to their meagre total.
