Following their victory in Barbados for the T20 World Cup 2024, the Indian squad was recently seen boarding an aircraft to return home.
To win their second World Cup title, the Men in Blue defeated South Africa by seven runs in the summit match, going undefeated throughout the competition.
A video of multiple Indian celebrities boarding the plane that will return them home has gone viral on social media. Notably, the charter flight that was scheduled to depart from New Jersey arrived late in Barbados, which caused a delay in India’s return home from Barbados.
The government of Barbados was compelled to close the airport and cancel all flights due to the hurricane danger. Rajeev Shukla, the vice president of the BCCI, recently announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the players will travel to Delhi on Wednesday night.
“Grateful that team India is returning to Delhi this evening after their flight from Barbados. Will arrive tomorrow night. A powerful hurricane left them stranded there for three days. @BCCI has undertaken all the necessary preparations for the players’ safe return home. Rajeev Shukla tweeted, “@JayShah, the secretary of the BCCI, is personally keeping an eye on everything.”

The Indian team, its support staff, the players’ families, a few board officials, and the Indian media, who have been stuck here for the past three days owing to cyclone Beryl, are scheduled to return home on an Air India special charter flight called AIC24WC—Air India Champions 24 World Cup.
