On Saturday, December 2, during Pakistan’s National T20 Cup match between Abbottabad and Sialkot, Pakistani batsman Mirza Tahir Baig was involved in one of the most odd ‘hit wicket’ dismissals ever.
Tahir Baig attempted to play a pull shot from the back foot against Abbottabad spinner Yasir Shah in the 12th over but was out ‘hit wicket’.
He had cramps and lost his balance when he shifted his weight to his back foot. Baig was dismissed in a peculiar and regrettable manner after falling over his stumps.

The right-handed batter landed awkwardly on his backside, squirming in agony. But he had to return to the tent, which was unfortunate.
The captain of Sialkot, Shoaib Malik, had previously won the toss and chosen to bat first. Baig became the top scorer for Sialkot with an impressive 29-ball 38, hitting three fours and two sixes throughout his knock. Because of a three-for from Yasir, Abbottabad was limited to 119/8 in 20 overs.
In response, Sajjad Ali and Anees Azam scored 32 runs to give Abbottabad a strong start. Abbottabad hit their target of 120 with five wickets and 14 balls remaining after the former was removed for a 50 off 45 balls.
Both clubs have already played two games and have one victory apiece. In the Super Eight stage, Sialkot is presently ranked third with a net run-rate (NRR) of +0.665. However, Abbottabad has an NRR of -0.362 and is positioned at No. 4. On December 3, Sialkot and Rawalpindi will square off in Karachi. In the meantime, Abbottabad will face FATA on that day.
