Former England captain Eoin Morgan praised Test captain Ben Stokes for his influence in the dressing room. He praised Stokes prior to the eagerly anticipated Ashes match between England and the newly crowned World Test Champions, Australia.
Since Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum‘s appointment as England’s captain and coach for the longest format of the game, England’s fortunes have improved. Eoin Morgan, England’s World Cup-winning captain, described the effect Stokes’ capacity to support his players had on the players in the dressing room.
“It speaks volumes both on and off the pitch, and it echoes loudly in the locker room, so it shouldn’t be any different for the general public. Morgan praised the Test captain to a media outlet, saying, “When you have a leader like that, it’s great because there’s clear, transparent direction in where you’re going and what you want to accomplish.”

Under the leadership of Ben Stokes, England is playing a fearless brand of cricket, dismissing their opponents with complete contempt. While reclaiming the Ashes is of the utmost importance to the English team, Morgan believes they will not alter their playing approach and will instead go for the kill rather than settle for a draw.
The former captain opined that the current strategy seems to suit the players, as Stokes has been able to coax their finest performances from them over the past year. Beginning on June 16, the first game of the series will be played at Edgbaston against England’s archrivals.
“A draw is not the objective; they want to win, they have their eyes on the reward, and he seems to get more out of his own players in this manner. For the better part of four or five years, England was abysmal at Test match cricket; they attempted fighting and being dogged, being defensive, and playing the long game, but that didn’t work.
