Known for his keen cricketing insight, Sunil Gavaskar offered his opinions on the current IPL season. The former Indian captain highlighted the crucial part that Dhoni has played in the success of the organization while thinking back on his two favorite teams, the Mumbai Indians (MI) and CSK.
Violent rivalry and furious confrontations have become the norm in the 17 seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL), and one player who has continuously stood out is MS Dhoni. Sunil Gavaskar, a legendary Indian cricketer, has discussed Dhoni’s significance, particularly with regard to the success of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
“The Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians are my two favorite teams. Gavaskar stated on the IPL On Star broadcast, “Mumbai because I’m from Mumbai and Chennai because of none other than MS Dhoni.”
Thala for a motive Sunil Gavaskar
Gavaskar praised the 42-year-old cricketer and gave an explanation for the moniker “Thala,” which goes to Dhoni.
That is the rationale behind the term Thala. There are players from many teams in the IPL. Your primary goal in the IPl is to win the trophy, which may require you to occasionally bench some of the greatest players. However, you must never make them feel insignificant; instead, you must emphasize the value of their contributions. and MS Dhoni is the best at it of all. Gavaskar continued, “Thala for a reason, therefore.”

MI has won its previous two games, mounting a stunning turnaround following a rough start to the season. On April 14 at the Wankhede Stadium, the Hardik Pandya-led team will take on archrivals CSK in an attempt to make it three straight victories.
CSK has won three of the five games they have played and is presently ranked third in the points standings. Both clubs will be trying to get one more win and move up the points table in the next game.
