The schedule for Pakistan upcoming tour of Sri Lanka has been released.
The two teams will play two Test matches against each other. From July 16 to 20, the first Test will take place at the Galle International Cricket Stadium in Galle. The second Test will take place at the Singhalese Sports Club in Colombo, the country’s capital, on July 24.
With the upcoming series, both Pakistan and Sri Lanka will start their two-year journeys in the World Test Championship. They will both want to get off to a good start and win. Pakistan’s regular captain, Babar Azam, will be in charge of the team. The selection committee has already chosen a strong 16-person team for the trip.
The star left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi will be back for the tour, and batter Mohammad Huraira and all-rounder Aamer Jamal have been called up for their first Tests. Shaheen wore whites for the last time for the team led by Babar Azam in Sri Lanka last year. Since his first Test in December 2018 against New Zealand in the UAE, he has played in 25 of them. The left-handed seamer has taken 99 wickets in the latest version of the game, with an average of 24.86, which is very good.
The Lankan Lions, on the other hand, haven’t picked their team for the series yet. They are currently fighting for a spot in the upcoming ODI World Cup in India, which will be held in October and November. During the ODI World Cup Qualifiers in Zimbabwe, Dasun Shanaka’s team has only played one game.
In a Group match on June 19 in Bulawayo, they beat the UAE by a huge score of 175 runs. Leg spinner Wanindu Hasaranga was the game’s star for the island nation. He got 23 runs without being out on 12 balls, took six wickets, and gave up only 24 runs in eight overs.\
Salaam everyone! I don’t want to be a bone of contention between Asif Zardari and Shehbaz Sharif. Such instability and uncertainty is not good for PCB. Under the circumstances I am not a candidate for Chairmanship of PCB. Good luck to all stakeholders.
