Australia has advanced to the finals of the ODI World Cup, where they will play India on November 19 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, after a comfortable victory over South Africa in the semi-finals. Pacer Josh Hazlewood praised the Rohit Sharma-led team and described them as a quality team with no clear vulnerabilities ahead of the high-stakes game.
Notably, the Men in Blue have won all ten of their matches thus far in the 2017 ODI World Cup. Hazlewood is aware that it will be difficult for them to cross the finish line in the championship since they have been outstanding on all three fronts of the game. But the bowler pointed out that Australia has played a lot of cricket against each other, so they are familiar with Indian conditions.
We’ve performed for them numerous times. We share an intimate familiarity with them. It will be exciting to play them on Sunday because they are a top team that has been dominating the competition and have no true flaws. News18 cited Josh Hazlewood as stating, “I guess we saw a few cracks when we played them in Chennai chasing a small target, we were lucky enough to get a couple early.”
At Eden Gardens, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc were outstanding against the Proteas.
The conditions were suitable for them to go about their business, and they quickly took wickets with the new ball. Australia’s strong start saw them dismiss South Africa for 212 runs.
Hazlewood spoke of his friendship with Starc, stating that the two had been bowling together for a considerable amount of time and have a good understanding of one another. In the finale, he said, they plan to try to replicate the same performance against India.
We’ve bowled together for a while, so it’s nice that we both know each other’s games and perform well on the same night. It was wonderful to get the ball on, but there is a little something in the wicket that we probably haven’t had in the past games or in a couple here and there. Hopefully, we can do it on Sunday as well,” Josh Hazlewood said.
